On this excursion you will:
Travel by bus to the Institute for Marine Science at Anthony's Key Resort.
Travel by boat across the resort's lagoon to the pristine Bailey's Key, the private island home to a large family of Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins.
Upon arrival to Bailey's Key, be outfitted with mask, fins and snorkel.
Try out snorkel equipment from an adjacent beach.
Learn about these amazing creatures as the informative staff conducts an educational orientation.
From a gently sloping beach, follow the trainer into waist deep water to meet one of the friendly dolphins.
Learn of the dolphins' characteristics, anatomy and behaviors and be given the opportunity to ask questions, touch, kiss and play with your new friend.
Have the opportunity to take your own photos during this portion of the activity.
Be photographed by a professional photographer.
Receive brief instruction on the etiquette of snorkeling with the dolphins while preparing to initiate the snorkel session.
Enter the water to snorkel freely with over one dozen dolphins, including mothers and their calves, for up to 30 minutes.
Observe the natural behaviors of the dolphins as they interact with you and others in their pod.
Have maximum opportunities for physical contact with the dolphins while snorkeling with a limited number of participants within the two-acre enclosure.
See your professional photographs at the resort's gift shop and be given free time at Anthony's Key to shop for souvenirs, purchase snacks and drinks, take photo from the resort's observation deck and even visit the quaint Roatan Museum, also located on the property.
Note: Minimum age for participants is 8 years of ages and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while snorkeling. Participants should be familiar with the use of mask, fins and snorkel and should have prior snorkeling experience. Cameras or video are not allowed in the water during the snorkel session. Pregnant women are not allowed on this excursion. Total time spent with the dolphins is one hour.
