Join us for a historical bike ride through the capital town of Philipsburg.
A historical bike ride through the capital town of Philipsburg. Making our way through the streets of Philipsburg, enjoy the many stops at historical points of interest to rest and learn some of the colorful history.
Stops include: Passangrahn Hotel, St. Maarten's oldest inn; Captain Hodge's Wharf, the center of this bustling and colorful town; and Philipsburg Courthouse, built in 1793. Avid cyclists love the challenging incline up Little Bay Hill, but feel free to walk your bike if you prefer.
A beautiful lookout over the town awaits at the top. The bike ride continues as you begin your second short incline to the historical Fort Amsterdam.
The remaining walls and cannons offer a glimpse into St. Maarten's rich history as well as a sense of tranquility while you view town and the Cruise Ship Terminal from this spectacular vantage point.
Return to Philipsburg along the Boardwalk, stopping for a cold drink under the shade while chatting with your fellow cyclists or browsing at souvenirs.
