Marvel at the fascinating ecosystem of St. Maarten on this gentle, 2½ hour kayak tour across the largest saltwater lagoon in the Antilles. On this excursion you will: Begin your adventure with a 30-minute drive through Philipsburg and over Cay Hill where the Simpson Bay Lagoon and Caribbean Ocean are visible. Continue through Colebay and stop at the beautiful white sandy beach of the Port de Plaisance Resort. Listen as your guides provide a short kayaking lesson on the beach before helping you into your kayak. Paddle out into the calm waters of the lagoon and see numerous marinas along the coastline, lined with multi-million dollar yachts. Watch as your guides show you the large Grey Herons and the upside-down jellyfish that reside in this area, while providing instructions on your technique as you paddle along. See the imaginary water border between the Dutch and French sides of the island and look out for sea cucumbers. Enjoy the beauty of nature as you paddle along the labyrinth of mangroves lining the shore and teeming with life. Paddle on to a secluded beach for approximately an hour's swim. End your kayaking tour at a beautiful cove where you will enjoy a complimentary beverage before returning to your ship. Note: Minimum age is 10 years; maximum weight is 300 lbs. Single Kayaks available upon prior request. Pregnant women and guests with back/neck injuries, heart conditions or walking difficulties are not permitted on this excursion.
