Dash through the streets of San Miguel de Cozumel, plunge into the balmy sea, and crack a secret code during the Amazing Cozumel Race shore excursion. Whether you're with your family or flying solo, the Amazing Cozumel Race combines action, adventure, and sightseeing in a fast-paced, competitive environment. You can race hard or simply enjoy the sights of Cozumel as you match wits with other teams to decipher clues and solve a mystery.
After traveling from the pier to the starting point, you will be briefed by the hunt's fun-loving designers on the rules of the race, and teams will form. Then you're handed the first clue in a sealed envelope and the mystery begins…where will you need to go first? Remember: a clue can be anywhere, anyone, or anything during the Amazing Cozumel Race!
Suddenly you find yourself at the beach, where you and your team members are handed snorkel gear—your next clue lies underwater. Take a dive into the cool waters of the Caribbean, or wait impatiently on the beach for the clue to be retrieved. Then it's off again into the streets to hunt for more clues dotted around Cozumel.
Your team now searches for a clue inside Cozumel's museum. Will the clue relate to Cozumel's history or culture? Pass quickly through the exhibits in search of the next piece of the puzzle. After you've unlocked the museum's secret, it's off again into the sun-splashed streets of Cozumel. As you approach your final clue, the excitement builds. How close are the other teams? Is the information a local just gave you true or false? You only have seconds to decide!
Finally, you've made it to the end of the race: an off-the-beaten-path cantina. A special section of the cantina has been set up just for race participants—here you can swap tales and compare notes with the other Carnival teams while you're treated to two complimentary drinks. The top three finishers in the race are then presented with medals, and cheered on by the other teams. You can then choose to enjoy the cantina's delicious Mexican fare for an additional cost, or backtrack to some of the more intriguing local shops you spotted during the race. A free taxi ride takes you back to the ship, where you can cool off and regale your fellow Carnival guests with stories of the Amazing Cozumel Race.

Founded in 1849, San Miguel has a Spanish colonial town square shaded in a canopy of flamboyant trees and pastel courtyards spilling over with colorful bougainvillea. It's the largest and most vibrant town on the island.
