After a short bus ride, arrive at the historic "Chaac Tun" cenote, a sacred site to the ancient Mayans. These natural wonders were created by the filtration of water through the limestone terrain, and over the course of thousands of years created stunning stalactites, columns and formations.
Follow the guides toward a fresh water underground river, where you'll have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the underground caverns and take a refreshing swim. Everything you need to safely enjoy this unusual ecosystem is provided, including a helmet, life vest.
In order to preserve the ecological integrity of the area, sunscreen is not permitted until after the swimming portion of the tour.
You'll have the opportunity to play the ancient Mayan handball game of tiachtili and have a traditional Mayan lunch. Try Pollo Pibil, a traditional Yucatan chicken dish, as well as fresh seasonal fruit.
Hop back into the bus and continue your exploration of the Mayan Riviera, as you head back towards the pier, where upon arrival, you'll have an hour and a half to browse the colorful 5th Avenue boutiques and shops, or simply relax on the white sand beach.

This tour takes place on Mexico's mainland, located about 45 minutes by ferry boat from the island of Cozumel.
The ferry ride may be rough depending on weather conditions. Guests prone to sea sickness are advised to take preventative medication prior to boarding the ferry.
For safety reasons, pregnant women, guests with heart or respiratory conditions and those with back/neck injuries are not allowed to participate.
On Cozumel Plus itineraries, tour duration will be 8 hours.
